Pokemon Sun & Moon: Pokemon Snap Like Features & New Pokemon

Ever since its original release in spring of 1999 Pokemon Snap has been a fan favorite spin off of the ever popular Pokemon series. In this game players took the role of a Pokemon photographer who rode around in a cart on a quest to take pictures of all the Pokemon. This game played very much like a rail shooter but instead of shooting bullets the player shot photographs. Fans of Pokemon and Pokemon Snap have been clamoring for a sequel to this Nintendo 64 game ever since the introduction of motion controls that came with the Nintendo Wii. These pleads for a sequel were even louder with the release of the Wii U which seemed to be the perfect platform to launch a revival. With the continuation of motion controls and the separate game pad, which could have functioned as the player’s camera, but it never came. While a Pokemon Snap U does not seem to be on the horizon, Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have announced a new feature in Pokemon Sun & Moon called Poke’ Finder.

New Pokemon Snap Like Feature Poke’ Finder

These dreams may be fulfilled with with the feature found inside the Pokedex in Pokemon Sun & Moon with this new feature. Poke’ Finder will be usable in specifically designated area within Pokemon Sun & Moon where the player will be able to open their Pokedex and access this new mini-game. The game will be focused on touch controls and will allow the player to aim their camera around and take pictures of their favorite Pokemon. So far the Nintendo Company has said that Pokemon such as Dragonite, Pikachu, and Eevee with appear within the feature, which implies that we are only going to see the game’s most popular Pokemon in this mini-game.

That is not the only part of Poke’ Finder that the company has announced so far. This mode will have more Pokemon Snap like features such as your Pokedex judging your photos just like in the classic Nintendo 64 game. On top of this players will also be able to upload their pictures online where other players will also be able to judge photos. This has a very Instagram like feel, which should enhance the multiplayer aspect of the game.

New Pokemon Announced for Pokemon Sun & Moon

While Poke’ Finder was a big addition a game that so far has already proven to include many new features, it was not the only announcement the Pokemon Company released. This additional information took the form of more Pokemon and a new Alolan form of an existing one. (descriptions from the Pokemon Company)

The mask fitted to this Pokemon’s head is a piece of equipment designed to control its power. Null is the partner Pokemon of a newly revealed character–Gladion, the taciturn enforcer of Team Skull, who places a high value on being strong in battle.”

Jangmo-o:

“The Scaly Pokemon Jangmo-o has the pride of a warrior and never neglects its training in its pursuit of becoming stronger. This Pokemon uses the scales on its head as a weapon both offensively and defensively. It lives in harsh locales, like canyons, where it can train.”

Alolan Raticate:

“Raticate in Alola live in urban areas, leading to a higher-calorie diet than that of Raticate elsewhere. This means they have tough bodies but have gotten a lot fatter. They stockpile huge amounts of food in their nests and prefer fresh fruit and high-class ingredients. Alolan Raticate is the Totem Pokemon of the trial that takes place in Verdant Cavern on Melemele Island in Pokemon Moon.”
