Like your favorite coat, there’s a comfortable familiarity to Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls graphics. Aside from being comparable to any given Game Boy Advance game, both games look quite a bit like their Final Fantasy successors and should be instantly recognizable to anyone who’s played them.

Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure Overview
Take control of Parin, a young girl from Tiese Town in Gurumin: A Monstrious Adventure. Players must save the town from phantoms with the help of a legendary drill weapon. There are different outfits and headgear to acquire along the way, and several difficulty settings to add replay value. Gurumin is a charming title with bright, attractive graphics and an enjoyable soundtrack.

Jeanne D’arc is a tactical RPG that was released for the Sony PSP in the summer of 2007. If you are a fan of the genre this game does not disappoint and is probably the best on the system. With awesome visuals, great voice acting, an interesting story line, appealing characters, and many hours of gameplay it is hard to find something wrong with this game. If you are a fan of the tactics genre whatsoever then you need to get this game for the Sony PSP.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 Overview
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is an action oriented RPG where the player takes on the role of a bounty hunter. The hunter can choose from a list of missions which all vary in difficulty. There are exceptions but most missions involve the player hunting down and capturing a single monster. These fights can range from twenty minutes to fifty minutes and prove to be challenging for even the most seasoned gamers. Where this game really shines is its multiplayer aspects. You can join your fellow hunters on missions and help that defeat their foes that they could normally not beat by themselves. Overall the game is really fun but it is also very difficult so more seasoned gamers are more likely to enjoy this gem.

Spectral Souls: Resurrection of the Etheral Empire Overview
Spectral Souls: Resurrection of the Etheral Empire is a tactical role playing game that was released for the PSP in late 2006. The game is a remake of the original Japanese game, Spectral Souls II. The game plays like most other tactical role playing games and has no really outstanding features that could have made the game unique. One issue with the game is that the load times in between screens is atrocious and this really slows down the game play. If you can get past the load time issues and you are a fan of tactics style RPGs then this game still has something to offer.

Star Ocean: First Departure Overview
Star Ocean: First Departure is a remake of the original Star Ocean game, but with a new engine. The original games were extremely popular and Japan and this game was no exception. In this game the player takes on the role of Riddick Farrence, a young hero who is trying to save the world from destruction. The game’s new engine and updated graphics make this game much more enjoyable to play compared to the original and the new content keeps the game fresh for returning players. Overall if you are a fan of JRPGs then Star Ocean: First Departure has a lot to offer.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth Overview
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is a port of the original Valkyrie Profile game. This new version supports fresher graphics, and tuned up game mechanics. The game plays like a role playing game but has a more unique combat system. In this combat system the player can choose one attack from multiple characters which makes this game quite different than most in the genre. Overall if you are a fan of the JRPG genre then this game is a must play classic.

Generation of Chaos Overview
Generation of Chaos is a turn based strategy role playing game that revolves around managing a kingdom and controlling an army. The kingdom management aspect of the game is very unique and keeps the player excited and interesting. The combat aspect of the game works very much like rock paper scissors. Certain unit types can easily defeat others while some completely dominate. The looks alright for psp but suffers from a few issues. One issue is that the combat gets very repetitive and another is that the story is extremely weak.
