Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows Overview

Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows is an action adventure role playing game that was the sequel to Gauntlet: Legends. In this version of the game there are no hidden characters to unlock, no central town where players can upgrade or purchase items, and no character customizations at all. Other than those complaints this is your standard hack and slash role playing game much like the previous Gauntlet games in the franchise. The multiplayer mode can be pretty fun, but once you and your friends beat it once its pretty much over and you probably wont play it again.

This quirky tactics game has a heavy focus on the destruction of the environment in each mission. When the player does so he or she can obtain items that will upgrade their characters. The player can also upgrade their characters from experience they obtains from winning missions and defeating enemies. Overall if you are a big fan of tactics games then this is worth a play, otherwise its not a perfect game and you should probably stay away.

Eragon Overview

Eragon is a third person action role playing game based on the novel and movie series. The game was released in 2006 for the Sony Playstaion 2, the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Xbox, PC, and the Nintendo DS. The game starts with the main character finding a jewel which turns out to be a dragon egg. This catches the attention of the dragon lord and Eragon, the main character, must fight to destroy him. Overall the game was pretty poor, having bad visuals, bad camera angels, and very linear game play.

Enter the Matrix is an action adventure role playing game that was released for the PS2, PC, GameCube, and Xbox in early 2003. The release of the game was concurrent with the release of the second Matrix movie, The Matrix Reloaded. The game lets you control two main characters, Ghost, and Niobe, and sports about an hour of unique footage not seen in the movies. The game operates with a third person view which helps simulate the characters awareness of their surroundings like they have in the movies. The combat system is pretty fun and the extra footage is pretty cool but the game was obviously rushed and thus was unfinished.

Dragon’s Lair 3D Overview

Dragon’s Lair 3D is a remake of the original 1983 arcade game that was released in 2002. Players take up the role of Dirk, a knight who is trying to save the princess from an evil dragon that has taken her captive. Throughout the game the player must complete simple puzzles in order to make his or her way through the castle where the princess is being held. Overall the gameplay is very simple and the story is linear, on top of that the controls are clunky and the graphics are not impressive. All in all this game is not very good and you are better off playing the original arcade game.

This combat systems allows players to implement strategy and cunning to defeat their enemies in this action packed game for the Xbox. The player controls five different characters each with their own back story, Tex, Brutus, Hawk, Flint, and Bratton. The game has an exciting combat system, but the story is rather short with only six in game missions, although there is a multiplayer mode that prolongs the game experience.

Every character has a slow and fast attack. Most importantly, Dark Legacy has the same fast paced gameplay and high replay value.
