Lost Kingdoms 2 is a role playing game that was released exclusively for the Nintendo GameCube. This game continues the story from the first Lost Kingdoms game, but generations later. In this game the players takes on the role of Tara Grimface, a thief trying to find her place in the world. The game’s combat system is card based and offers decent challenges for veteran gamers.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 Overview
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is an action oriented RPG where the player takes on the role of a bounty hunter. The hunter can choose from a list of missions which all vary in difficulty. There are exceptions but most missions involve the player hunting down and capturing a single monster. These fights can range from twenty minutes to fifty minutes and prove to be challenging for even the most seasoned gamers. Where this game really shines is its multiplayer aspects. You can join your fellow hunters on missions and help that defeat their foes that they could normally not beat by themselves. Overall the game is really fun but it is also very difficult so more seasoned gamers are more likely to enjoy this gem.

Pokemon: Gold and Silver is a catch em’ all role playing game that were the first real sequels to the original GameBoy games. These versions which were released for the GameBoy Color added many new Pokemon to capture and an additional eight badges to collect. This game offers countless hours of gameplay and ties in well with the original games.

Makai Kingdom Overview
Makai Kingdom is a tactical role playing game that was developed by Nippon Ichi Software, and was released on the Sony Playstation 2 in mid 2005. In this game the player creates characters from different objects which all provide different base stats for that character. Then the player uses their homemade characters to battle through different story based stages in tactics style combat. The game has some interesting mechanics such as the character creation process, but otherwise it is almost identical to other NIS games such as Phantom Brave and Disgaea.

Lunar Legend Overview
Lunar Legend is a role playing game that is a re-telling of the original, Lunar: The Silver Star. This updated version of the game includes a new updated story, and content changes. The game plays like a traditional role playing game and the story is relatively satisfying. Although, the length of the game and the in combat battle animations leaves something to be desired. Overall this game is a solid addition to the franchise, and a decent handheld RPG.

Lunar: Dragon Song Overview
Lunar: Dragon Song is a traditional turn based role playing game that was released for the Nintendo DS in late 2005. The game implements a simple turn based combat system which is identical to other games such as the early Final Fantasy titles. The story is very well done and the characters are charming, but the controls out of combat which the player uses to travel the game world are very poorly designed. If you are a big fan of the Lunar series this game could be worth playing but for everything else the controls are simply unusable.

Lufia: Ruins of Lore is a traditional style role playing game that is part of the popular Lufia series. This game takes place 20 years after the events that occurred in the game Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals. Lufia: Ruins of Lore plays much like many other traditional style role playing games but differs in one major area. In this game the player sees every monster he or she is about to fight and the battle on begins when you make contact with that monster. Overall the game is pretty solid for a handheld RPG and fans of the franchise will have a lot to enjoy.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga is a role playing game for the Nintendo DS that has a unique, active, combat system. In this game the player controls Mario and Luigi at the same time in and out of battle. By learning new Bro moves and attacks the player is able to control these two characters in order to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. The game also has a charming story line that keeps the player laughing throughout the game. Overall Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga is a very fun play.
