Mazes of Fate Overview
Mazes of Fate is a first person role playing game that is similar to many other games in the genre such as Eye of the Beholder. The player chooses from three basic character classes such as warrior, rogue, and mage. The player may also create their own character class allowing them to customize their own character’s role. The game includes dungeons, towns, and a world hub and going to these locations either advances the story line or allows the player to shop for new items. Overall if you are a fan of the traditional style of role playing game then this is the game for you.

Mount and Blade Overview
Mount and Blade is an action role playing game where the players takes on the role of a warrior trying to gain fame and recognition. The game has an open world and has no clear direction so the player can choose how their adventure will play out. The combat system is unique and allows the player to control their own army and allows for strategic elements such as higher ground and morale. Overall the game is extremely fun and can provide many hours of gameplay.

Okami Overview
Okami is an action adventure role playing game that was released for the Sony Playstation 2 and the Nintendo Wii. The Playstation 2 version utilizes the Dual Shock Controller, while the Wii version utilizes the Wii’s motion control system. The game puts you in the role of a wolf who must search the very detailed and visually appealing world. Along the way the player will learn different attacks and out of battle puzzle solving tools based off brush strokes. Overall the game is very entertaining and looks great.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Overview
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is a 2-D role playing game that was released for the Nintendo GameCube in late 2004. In this game the player takes on the role of a 2-D Mario who has to explore his flat world in order to rescue Princess Peach. The game’s combat system is active and requires the player to utilize timing in order to defeat Mario’s enemies. The story is also very quirky and entertaining. Overall Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is a great play and makes an awesome addition to any player’s library.

Persona 3 Overview
Persona 3 is the cult favorite turn based role playing game that was released exclusively for the Sony Playstation 2 in late 2007. In Persona 3 the player takes on the role of an average student during the day completing tasks such as studying, meeting friends at the mall, and many more. These seemingly simple tasks help the player build relationships with ohter characters which in turn help augment your character’s abilities and “Persona”. When the “midnight hour” hits, then the real game really starts when the player enters into a large tower where he fights his way to the top to uncover secrets and improve their abilities. Overall Persona 3 is a cult classic that has inspired many fans and dedicated followers that is worth playing for any Japanese RPG fan.

Phantasy Star Collection Overview
Phantasy Star Collection is a combination of the two original Phantasy Star games, ported to the Nintendo GameBoy Advance. These games play like traditional role playing games with a sci-fi setting. The character models are very visually appealing and the setting is charming. Overall these are classic games and any serious RPG gamer should give them a try at least once.

Phantom Brave Overview
Phantom Brave is a turn based role playing game that was released for the Sony Playstation 2 in August of 2004. This game, which is a virtual copy of the popular Disgea franchise with a few changes, is able to offer the player countless hours of gameplay. Like Disgea this game is a turn based tactics game with repayable story missions, and many different characters to collect. Where this game differs from Disgea is how items and weapons work. All of these objects can be picked up and thrown for damage, which adds another layer of tactics to the gameplay. Overall if you are a fan of tactics game then this is a great play, otherwise Disgea is a much more established series with a lot more to offer.
